Serving your Church, and your community.

Our Office is pleased to have working relationships with a number of Churches, many spanning over forty years.

As such, we have worked on a number of Church schemes, and these have included developing new church buildings; remodelling, alterations and
extensions to existing church buildings, and, the conservation and restoration work to Listed church buildings.

We have worked with our Church Clients to develop their Statements of Significance, Statements of Need and Options Appraisals.

For Churches that are looking for further resources to help them with maintenance, property information or funding, please visit the Church
of England's national resource website, Church Care, and the Methodist Church's Property website.

Additional information is also available with respect to funding, via the Heritage Lottery Fund, and for some initiatives, the BIG Lottery Fund.

Some of the Churches that we work with have made a commitment to the "Eco-congregation", a partnership between the Government funded environmental charity ENCAMS, and the Environmental Issues Network of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.  Can your Church care for God's creation?

Our redevelopment project in Stratford upon Avon Methodist Church was conceived in 2008 after in-depth discussion with Ken Holmes of Vagdia and Holmes to meet the five aims to make our Church premises fit for mission in the 21st Century. We wanted to improve our church premises for our mission in the community as well as make them sustainable for a low carbon future. The Architect’s made presentations to the Church several times throughout the preparation period to make sure our vision was fully expressed in his plan. Vagdia and Holmes have made great efforts to make sure there is good consultation between the builders and the Church. Under their excellent management, Phase One of our plan was finished before Christmas 2013, and within budget. We have now started Phase Two, and expect to have the work finished by May 2014. With the Architect’s deep understanding of our vision, and his patience in guiding us and dealing with all the problems encountered, we have great confidence that we can make our Church premises a welcoming place for sharing the love of God with all the people around us and a greener building to facilitate all the community activities expected from us.

St Martin’s In the Field Church, Coventry has been pleased to work with Vagdia and Holmes who have provided us with consultancy services for many years on various projects, associated with our Church premises. These have included project management for major building works as well as advice on repair and maintenance issues. We have been impressed with their willingness to be involved in all stages of a project from initial specification of works through contractor selection, grant applications and management of the project. We look forward to continuing to work with Vagdia and Holmes and have no hesitation in recommending their skilled, helpful and friendly approach to projects large and small.

Dear Ken and Team, I wanted to write to formally express my gratitude for all your hard work on our Redevelopment Project. From the beginning it was a pleasure to work with you and your excellent Team. Thank you for the spiritual integrity of the scheme; the patience you showed with all the Steering Committee; and your help in leading the Church through this time of change. We are very much enjoying our new facilities and gradually learning about using the space to its full potential. So many of our visitors have complimented us on all the work that has been done, many especially mentioning the two prominent crosses in the Church, and the worshipful atmosphere therein. It is certainly a joy to lead worship in the new Sanctuary and the two weddings we have had already have been joyful occasions. Thank you for your original vision, your patience in solving problems along the way, and your graciousness in helping us realise that vision across the site. I very much hope that you and the Team will be able to attend the Official Opening Celebrations on Saturday 20th September at 2pm, when there will be an opportunity to thank you more publically for your tremendous work. Until then, please accept my person thanks. Yours in Christ,

Revd. Helen Bell (2014)

On behalf of the Steering group, I would like to give our thanks to our architects, Vagdia and Holmes Chartered Architects, our contractor, Tompkins Construction Ltd and our Quantity Surveyor, Bridgewater & Coulton, for their fantastic achievement in completing our project on time and within budget. Our special thank go to Ken Holmes our architect for his persistence in transforming our vision into reality and his patience in tackling our ever changing demands in the process. Ken came down three times to present his vision to our congregation, and to attend a number of our steering group meetings. Nothing has been too much trouble for him. With his deep understanding of our wish in making our premises energy efficient and more sustainable he helped us to add solar panels, ground heat pump and rainwater harvesting system into the scheme still within our original budget. By chairing monthly pre-site meetings he made sure the Church views were fully presented to the contractor in the site meeting. As a good manager, Ken ensured there was a good working relationship between the Contractor and the Church throughout the project. We would like to thank all the staff at Vagdia and Holmes, particularly Jason Brooks. He was always very helpful and cheerful in coping with all our demands and his detailed paper work enabled us to work together very efficiently.
